Best smartphones on the shelves today

With so many new phones that are launched every few weeks, it can take a while before you know which phone is best to buy. When you think of visiting stores to gather information, fatigue creeps in like a thief in the night. Well, worry as I have looked around for you. So I allow me to share with you the best phone that money can buy this season based on affordability, durability, and uniqueness, and no, it is not the iPhone 6. I will tell why think the Sony Xperia TM Z2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge are the best that money can buy this season.

Samsung has made a god of a machine when it made the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. It comes with 32GB of internal memory, under its sleeves. The Edge also supports micro SD card up to 128GB. This literally means that you can save all of your important files on your phone and still have enough space to save that favourite track that gets you in good gear for the day.

A computer in the palm of your hand.

It appears, Samsung has finally ended its dependence to Qualcomm Inc. for its processors. This time the Galaxy offers their own processor, the Exynos 7420 chipset. As opposed to the infamous iPhone 6 Plus that has a dual-core 1.4GHz, the Edge has been given a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53, and quad-core 2.1 GHz Cortex-A57. To the not-so tech heads, this just means that it is much faster than the iPhone 6 Plus' offering.

The 3 megapixel front camera was a brush on the shoulder finish for Samsung. This stunning curvaceous beauty also packs an 18 megapixel rear camera that offers optical image stabilization and LED flash, which puts dust to the 8 megapixel rear camera offered by the iPhone 6 Plus. Between the Samsung Galaxy Edge Note and Apples’ iPhone 6 Plus, the Note comes out on top in every way that matters.

The one downside to buying a Samsung phone is the rate at which new and better versions are released. That feeling this is the best product purchase that you have ever made, will only last for about 6 to 8 months then your phone goes into history books or worse, everyone has it.

Next generation?

Another stunning beauty of a machine is the Z2, yes you read right, the Sony Xperia TM Z2! Apart from the stylish aluminium and glass design. The way Sony has done such a great job on the Z2 it failed at making worthwhile improvements on the next generation Z3.

The 2.2 megapixel front camera and processing Speed were not altered even the slightest bit.

The battery power has a seen slight increase by a marginal 100mAh which means absolutely nothing to an average person. What was seen to be problematic, as there were said to be complaints regarding the ‘sharp’ edges of the Xperia TM Z2, as a result, the Z3 is slightly more curvaceous, 0.7mm slimmer and 9g lighter. Again, those are just minor alterations which are not good a reason to go out to purchase the pricey Z3.

The launch of the Z3 has made the Z2 even more attractive as the price tag has reasonably decreased making it more affordable than it was when it was the flagship product a few months ago.

A new, notable feature offered by the new Sony is the audio improvement which is not life changing unless you are a serious audiophile. Sony went out again with innovation in the sound quality making the Z3 the first smartphone with DSD playback, which in non-technical language translation is superior sound quality.

Even after the launch of Sony’s new flagship phone, the Sony Xperia TM Z2 is still making some noise in the street and getting positive reviews from tech blogs such as Tech Radar, now that is a phone that you can bank on.
